A Borussia Dortmund talent is on the verge of a move to a Bundesliga club, according to a report. A transfer fee beckons for BVB.
After seven years with Borussia Dortmund’s youth team, Nnamdi Collins is about to make the jump to the Bundesliga – but not with BVB. The 19-year-old is apparently moving to Eintracht Frankfurt. This is reported by Sport1.
According to the report, the central defender is set to sign a five-year contract with the SGE, while Dortmund will receive a transfer fee of just under one million euros. The transfer has not yet been officially confirmed.
Collins last played for BVB’s U19 team and captained the German runners-up. At the same time, he gained his first experience at senior level during the past season. The Düsseldorf native played eight games for the second team in the 3rd division.
However, he has not yet made the permanent leap to the pros, even though Collins completed parts of the summer preparation with Edin Terzic’s team. Presumably, Collins would have started the new season as part of the U23s. The defender apparently sees better prospects in Frankfurt.
Frankfurt wants to loan Collins initially, according to report
According to the Sport1 report, Collins will not be integrated at Eintracht immediately, but will initially be loaned out for one or two seasons and then return. According to the report, several clubs in neighboring countries could be considered.
In the courtship of Collins, the seventh-placed team in the pre-season table is said to have prevailed over AS Roma, among others. The German U19 international has made a total of 78 appearances for BVB’s senior and junior teams.
