Borussia Dortmund will use the World Cup break at the end of the year for a marketing trip. It will go to three countries.
There is an unusual break in the Bundesliga this year. From mid-November, operations will be at a standstill due to the World Cup in Qatar. Borussia Dortmund is also using the match-free period for a marketing trip. From 21 November to 1 December, BVB will set off for Southeast Asia and visit Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam. In each country, the Revierklub will play a test match against a local club, with further details to be announced by Dortmund in the near future.
“After the agonisingly long period of restrictions due to the Corona pandemic, it is a great pleasure for us to finally be able to visit our many fans and partners in Southeast Asia again,” Managing Director Carsten Cramer is quoted as saying in a statement. “We have felt very welcome in the region for many years and can’t wait to personally thank the people for their passion, but also for their patience. “
It should be clear that BVB will board the plane without its biggest stars – after all, they will be on duty for their national teams at the World Cup. Therefore, players from the U19 and U23 teams will also be part of Dortmund’s travelling party.
BVB coach Edin Terzic is looking forward to it: “In the tight schedule of the games, there is usually hardly any time to get in touch with the country and its people on trips abroad. This is different in this extraordinary case, and in addition to sporting attractive encounters, I am also looking forward to meeting as many black and yellow fans from countries in Southeast Asia as possible and celebrating our passion for our BVB together with them. “
