BVB win by double digits, Schalke stay in contention, VfL stay top, SGS and MSV have a bye

Schalke are facing the top game in the women’s competition, BVB won by double digits, and VfL Bochum remain at the top with no game.

Bundesliga

The Bundesliga season for women is not getting off the ground. Due to the European Championship, the season started later, and then there was a break for international matches. As a result, there have only been five match days so far, and there were no games this weekend either.

Next week, MSV Duisburg (last after five match days) will play against RB Leipzig on Friday (6:30 p.m.). SGS Essen, in seventh place, will play at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (November 4, 2:00 p.m.).

Regionalliga West

After MSV and SGS, VfL Bochum also had a game-free weekend. This did not change the situation at the top of the table, with VfL’s women remaining top and on course for a place in the 2nd Bundesliga.

However, the lead at the top of the table has shrunk by three points, as second-placed Fortuna Cologne won their game 2-0 against SSV Rhade. Bochum’s lead over Cologne and Bayer Leverkusen II in third place is thus six points. Next Sunday (November 5, 3 p.m.), VfL will face second-to-last Vorwärts Spoho Cologne.

Landesliga Westfalen 2

BVB was able to defend its league lead. It cruised to an 11-0 win against SV Hohenlimburg 1910. Dortmund is one point ahead of TV Brechten (6-0 at SpVg Berghofen II) and three points ahead of Borussia Dröschede (2-0 at SC Drolshagen). BVB coach Thomas Sulewski emphasized on the BVB homepage: “The team implemented everything we set out to do during the week: showing enthusiasm for the game, not letting the opponent settle, creating many chances and scoring goals.”

Landesliga Westfalen 3

FC Schalke remains hot on the heels of the leaders. They beat sixth-placed Grün-Weiß Nottuln 2-0. Chantal Schmitz and Celina Jürgens scored for the S04 women.

League leaders SV Borussia Emsdetten did not show any weakness. They won narrowly 2-1 at Turo Darfeld. Next Sunday (November 5, 12:30 p.m.) it comes to the top game. Then Emsdetten receives Schalke with a one-point lead.
