Not only did SC Preußen Münster suffer their second defeat in a row in the 3rd division at SSV Jahn Regensburg, they also lost two key players in their defense.
The long trip to SSV Jahn Regensburg was extremely bitter for Sascha Hildmann and his SC Preußen Münster in many respects. Despite a good performance, the promoted team ultimately had to admit defeat against the relegated team with 1:2.
But that wasn’t all. The Münster team also lost two key players in the defense. Captain Thomas Kok was sent off after making a sliding challenge in the 71st minute, earning him a straight red card. In addition, six-man Sebastian Mrowca injured himself during a sprint to the back and had to be replaced by Yassine Bouchama.
On Monday, the club announced the results of the MRI scan on the summer signing from Wiesbaden. As the eagle bearers announced, the 29-year-old will be out “in the next few weeks” with a calf injury.
Hildmann: “Then the others can prove themselves”
Hildmann probably had a feeling about such a diagnosis as early as Saturday before the 600-kilometer return trip from Regensburg. With a view to Kok and Mrowca, he told “nullsechs.tv”: “Next Sunday, the guys who haven’t played much so far can prove themselves.” That’s when SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball will be the guests. The surprise promoted team is in third place after 13 match days with a strong 23 points.
Alexander Hahn could be an option again as an alternative to Kok. The central defender was one of the heroes of last year’s promotion, making 32 Regionalliga appearances, and was initially in the starting lineup for eight matches this season. However, Hildmann has always opted for the trio of Kok, Simon Scherder and Niko Koulis for the past five league matches.
On the double six alongside Luca Bazzoli, the decision is likely to fall either on Bouchama, who already took on the role in Regensburg, or Rico Preißinger, who, after eight appearances in the starting eleven, was initially only on the bench after eight appearances in the starting eleven.
