Calf injury – regular player will miss several weeks

At SSV Jahn Regensburg, SC Preußen Münster not only suffered their second defeat in a row in the 3rd division, but also lost two pillars of their defense.

The long away trip to SSV Jahn Regensburg was extremely bitter for Sascha Hildmann and his SC Preußen Münster in many respects. Despite a good performance, the promoted team were ultimately beaten 2-1 at the relegated club.

But that was not enough. Münster also lost two key players in their defense. Captain Thomas Kok was sent off with a red card in the 71st minute after an emergency brake. Six-man Sebastian Mrowca was also injured during a sprint to the back in the early stages and had to be replaced by Yassine Bouchama.

On Monday, the club then announced the results of the MRI scan on the new summer signing from Wiesbaden. As the Eagles announced, the 29-year-old will miss “the next few weeks” with a calf injury.

Hildmann: “Then the others can prove themselves”

Hildmann probably already had such a diagnosis in mind on Saturday before the 600-kilometer journey back from Regensburg. He told “nullsechs.tv” with regard to Kok and Mrowca: “Next Sunday, the lads who haven’t played so far can prove themselves.” SSV Ulm 1846 Football will then be the visitors. After 13 match days, the surprise promotion contenders are in third place with a strong 23 points.

Alexander Hahn could once again play a role as an alternative for Kok. The central defender was one of last year’s promotion heroes, making 32 appearances in the regional league, and has also started eight games this season. In the last five league games, however, Hildmann has always opted for the trio of Kok, Simon Scherder and Niko Koulis.

In the double-six alongside Luca Bazzoli, on the other hand, the decision is likely to fall either to Bouchama, who already took on the role in Regensburg, or Rico Preißinger – after eight appearances in the starting eleven, he was initially only on the bench six times
