Anthony Losilla scored a dream goal for VfL Bochum against Borussia Dortmund. In the end, it was good for at least a point.
Things Anthony Losilla is known for: running strength and tackling. Things for which the captain of VfL Bochum is rather less known: scoring goals. In the derby against Borussia Dortmund, the 37-year-old scored his first goal of the season – and what a goal it was.
“I rarely score goals, so I always have to score dream goals so that people remember it,” Losilla joked afterwards. “I wasn’t thinking, I just wanted to shoot quickly at the goal and the thing goes straight into the corner. “
But much more important to the VfL captain than his own goal was the point he fought for in the battle to stay in the relegation zone. “Only with such a performance can we achieve our goal. That has to be the basis.” The match plan almost worked out in the process, he said.
“It was a good first half. We played bravely and annoyed the opponent. A few situations we could have played out even better.” But a win would probably have been a bit too much of a good thing based on the second half.
“There we did little forward, but fought, threw everything in and in the end with a bit of luck took an important point.” Losilla was also alluding to the controversial situation from the 65th minute, which heated up BVB tempers in particular.
To be honest: Can you whistle.

Danilo Soares had yellow-prejudiced Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi down in the penalty area. “To be honest, can you whistle.” Penalty and yellow-red would have been the consequence. Referee Sascha Stegemann decided against it and also the video assistant did not report. “I’m happy to take that, of course.”
Just like his son at the run-in. “A class action from the club.” Danilo Soares, Cristian Gamboa and Manuel Riemann also had their offspring on hand. “The kids are happy and these are nice memories they will keep in their minds.” Just like the VfL fans’ dream goal by Losilla.
