Captain sits on the bench – Dabrowski trusts this eleven

Rot-Weiss Essen will be fighting for valuable third league points at SV Wehen Wiesbaden from 2pm (RevierSport live ticker). We have the line-ups.

Christoph Dabrowski, coach of Rot-Weiss Essen, had spoken of luxury problems in the run-up to the game at SV Wehen Wiesbaden (Sunday, 2pm, RevierSport live ticker) as far as the starting line-up was concerned.

Now he has made his decision. In short: Dabrowski trusts the winning eleven from the 1:0 victory over 1. FC Saarbrücken. This also means that the recently injured “basic regulars”, as Dabrowski calls them, Clemens Fandrich and captain Daniel Heber, will sit on the bench for the time being. The same goes for Isaiah Young.

What the coaches said before the game:

Markus Kauczinski (SV Wehen Wiesbaden): “On Sunday, we clearly have to improve on the offensive. That’s why we focused on creating goal-scoring chances during this week of training. Essen have become accustomed to the league in the meantime and have recently achieved good results. Not least after the win against Saarbrücken, we are warned and know that Essen can beat any opponent. RWE is a physically robust and fast-paced team that is especially dangerous when it comes to switching moves.

Rot-Weiss Essen is clearly an enrichment for the league. They always bring a lot of fans with them, which also makes for an atmospheric backdrop.”

Christoph Dabrowski (Rot-Weiss Essen): “SV Wehen Wiesbaden is a similar calibre to Saarbrücken, Ingolstadt or Aue. It is a hurdle, a big challenge that we are happy to face. In this away game, we will try to take many things from our home performances with us, which means: We want to play to zero, the defence is the basis, the foundation to win a game.

Wiesbaden are very high ranked and very strong at home. They are very good at creating goal chances, they put a lot of crosses into the penalty area and pose a challenge to every opponent. We just want to face all of that, we want to stand up to them, break that away spell. “
