Captain terminates his contract and moves to the Oberliga

1. FC Bocholt and Jan Holldack are going their separate ways with immediate effect. The former captain of the regional league team is moving to the Oberliga.

On Monday (January 19, 2026), Jan Holldack terminated his contract with 1. FC Bocholt by mutual agreement and will continue his career at another club. The former captain of the Schwatten is leaving Bocholt’s Hünting after two and a half years.

During this time, Holldack played 84 competitive games for FCB, scoring 19 goals and setting up 25 more. The attacking player moved to Bocholt from RW Ahlen in the summer of 2023 and quickly became an important pillar of the team.

“1. FC Bocholt would like to thank Jan Holldack for his great commitment and service in the Schwatten jersey and wishes him all the best for his sporting and personal future,” said the board of the tenth-placed team in the Regionalliga West.

Forecasting also knows the new club of the talented technician: Holldack will return to his former club Rot Weiss Ahlen. RS has already reported on the Oberliga club’s interest in the midfielder, which is threatened with relegation. According to our information, Holldack will be presented in Ahlen this week. The Ahlen club was also able to offer Holldack career prospects in the real estate sector. This enabled the fifth division club to secure Holldack’s return. Luka Tankulic, Ahlen’s sporting director, confirmed to Forecasting a few days ago: “He was a good player in Ahlen. Jan is always an option for us. He would also be closer to his family and home. We are trying to make this transfer happen. Of course, everything has to fit financially. Let’s see what the next few days bring.” Holldack has made 16 appearances (three goals, four assists) for Bocholt this season. The former England international has played 211 times (48 goals, 50 assists) in his career in the Regionalliga. The former German U18 international has also made 89 appearances (26, 21) for Ahlen. Holldack is a real asset to the Oberliga!

Holldack joins Aaron Osei Bonsu, Philiom Tawiah, Gideon Guzy (all previously without a club), Jan-Nzeba-Bost (VfL Bochum II, on loan), Iskender Aslan (SC Wiedenbrück, on loan), Keleb Nwubani (VfL Bochum II), Bernard Gllogjani (Türkspor Dortmund), Franko Uzelac (Sportfreunde Lotte), and Oktay Dal (Eintracht Hohkeppel), Holldack is the tenth new signing for the Westphalian Oberliga club, which is threatened with relegation.
