Champions League: Five goals against Pilsen and Bayern best record

The third matchday of the Football Champions League: Inter Milan beat FC Barcelona 1-0 and stay on the heels of FC Bayern Munich, who shot down Viktoria Pilsen 5-0. Barcelona, on the other hand, have not been doing well so far: it was their second defeat in their third group match.

FC Porto turned the tables and got their first Champions League points: 2:0 against Bayer Leverkusen. The Rhinelanders suffered their second defeat in a row.

Like Porto, Olympique Marseille also claimed their first win of the season in the top flight. The team from the south of France defeated Sporting Lisbon 4:1. Sporting, who took the lead seconds after kick-off, played around 70 minutes with a shorthanded side after Antonio Adán was sent off.

Napoli in scoring mood again

In Group A, SSC Napoli are top of the table: three games, three wins – in the 6-1 win over Ajax Amsterdam, the attack was once again convincing. Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Glasgow Rangers means the second success and second place for Jürgen Klopp’s men.

FC Brugge’s record in Group B is flawless so far. The third-placed team in the Belgian league has yet to lose a point in the Champions League. Leverkusen are third.

Bayern best record

FC Bayern Munich remain unchallenged in Group C. On a season-long basis, the German champions are undefeated in 31 Champions League group matches, setting a record.

Eintracht Frankfurt drew goalless with Tottenham and it remains one Champions League win for the Bundesliga club. Despite the defeat in Marseille, Sporting remain top of Group D.
