Clear thing – KFC Uerdingen shoots down Hilden

In the chasing duel of the Oberliga Niederrhein, KFC Uerdingen makes short work of VfB Hilden. 2000 spectators watch a 4:0.

KFC Uerdingen made a big statement at the start of the 24th matchday. In the chasing duel against VfB Hilden, KFC clearly won 4-0 at home in the Grotenburg and celebrated their third win in a row in front of over 2000 spectators.

The home side got off to a flying start. Dimitrios Touratzidis missed the first huge chance of the game in the first minute, but Alexander Lipinski did better a few minutes later: A long-range shot from Maik Odenthal was deflected by Hilden goalkeeper Yannic Lenze, Lipinski was in the right place and dusted it off (7th minute).

Hilden got into the game better, but the goal was again scored by the other side: Odenthal sent the ball long into the penalty area with force, it took an unpredictable trajectory and ended up over the keeper and into the corner (34′) – 2:0 for KFC, which was also the score at half-time.

Hilden began the second half full of pressure, but were not rewarded with the equalizer. This allowed KFC to take more control of the game again, even if the visitors remained dangerous from time to time.

Shortly before the end, however, the home side made sure of the decision: Substitute Pascale Talarski was given too much space in the opposing penalty area on the half-right and tried a shot from an unusual position. The ball fluttered past the Hilden keeper and dropped into the corner to make it 3:0.

And if that wasn’t enough, it got even worse for the visitors from Hilden: KFC player Takumi Yanagisawa was sent up top in stoppage time, ran alone towards the keeper and skillfully slotted home to make it 4:0.

KFC Uerdingen thus moved up to third place in the table, at least for one night, and put pressure on the other teams chasing league leaders Sportfreunde Baumberg. The competition in the promotion battle between Germania Ratingen (2nd, against Adler Union Frintrop) and SpVg Schonnebeck (4th, against Meerbusch) will not be challenged until Sunday.
