Will Thomas Letsch remain coach at VfL Bochum? Among other things, he spoke about this in an interview with WAZ.
Thomas Letsch (55) has given himself and his team four days off. Bundesliga club VfL Bochum will not begin preparations for the basement clash with promoted 1. FC Heidenheim on Sunday (26.11., 15:30) until next Tuesday.
The Revierklub coach can use the international break to think about his personal future. The 55-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season. Initial talks about a contract extension have already taken place with VfL Bochum club officials, Letsch confirmed in an interview with the WAZ. “Of course we sit down together and talk about what the future holds and whether we want to continue working together,” he says. “That’s normal when a contract ends. If there is a desire from both sides, a solution should be found.” From VfL Bochum’s point of view, there is a lot to be said for continuing with Letsch. Last season, he rescued VfL from a seemingly hopeless situation. Before he took office on September 22, 2022, Bochum had picked up just one point from seven games. Letsch managed to turn things around and VfL remained in the Bundesliga. This season, the club is back above the line, but has only managed one win in eleven games so far
