Cologne announces “sold out” – all away tickets sold out

Alemannia Aachen continues its advance towards the 3rd division in the Regionalliga West. And the euphoria is huge.

Alemannia Aachen are not only top of the table in the Regionalliga West and have a six-point lead with nine matches to go before the end of the season, but are also top of all fan rankings.

The third division aspirants can welcome more than 16,000 spectators per home match. In recent matches, over 20,000 fans have consistently been in attendance at the Tivoli. The most recent match against Fortuna Düsseldorf II (2:1) even attracted over 25,000 spectators. The euphoria surrounding Alemannia is huge.

And even away from home, the fans from the imperial city make every away game feel like a home game. This will also be the case next Friday, March 15, 7:30 p.m. (live ticker).

Alemannia will then host the U21 team of 1. FC Köln, who are eighth in the table. And: All 2100 guest tickets have already been sold out. In other words: An Aachen home game atmosphere in Cologne’s Franz Kremer Stadium is pre-programmed.

“Aachen have taken the entire ticket contingent,” announced 1. FC Köln in response to an inquiry from the “Kölnische Rundschau”. The Bundesliga club also stated the following regarding the security measures: “In coordination with the security authorities and the guest, 1. FC Köln will take all measures within its sphere of influence to ensure a safe journey and a safe stadium experience for both the U21 match at the Franz Kremer Stadium and the match between the professionals and Leipzig at the Rhein-Energie Stadium.”

In sporting terms, the game seems to be a clear-cut affair – at least on paper. Aachen’s figures are impressive: the team of successful coach Heiner Backhaus has only lost one of its last 24 matches – 0:3 at 1. FC Bocholt. And Cologne? The team of U21 coach Evangelos Sbonias has only won one of its last ten matches – 1-0 at FC Schalke 04 II
