Promoted SC Preußen Münster goes into the game against SV Sandhausen with a tailwind. However, there are some question marks regarding the team.
SC Preußen Münster have now gone four games unbeaten in a row in the 3rd division. The promoted team is in 11th place in the table – a good interim result.
Now SV Sandhausen is coming to the Preußenstadion on Saturday, February 10, at 2:00 p.m. The team, which was relegated from the second division, is eyeing the third place in the table, which would qualify them for the relegation play-off. “Sandhausen have stabilized and are aiming to get into the second division. They will want to collect points here too. But we want to keep the points here and increase the gap further,” said Preußen coach Sascha Hildmann at the matchday press conference on Friday.
Sandhausen are a real handful, he said, and one that Preußen will have to crack even with a change in personnel. “We have a few big question marks in our personnel. Mrowca was ill and only completed parts of training. Koulis twisted his ankle and has a swollen foot. Böckle is definitely out, and there’s still a question mark over Grodowski.”
Joel Grodowski is the second-highest goalscorer for Preußen with nine goals this season. Nevertheless, Hildmann is optimistic that his team can hold its own against SVS. “We have a good, broad squad and will compensate for these absences. However, we still have to wait for the last training session to know who will be available.”
Preußen Münster want to build on their recent home games
Whoever he sends into the race, the team should build on the past home games. There were 2-1 victories against Arminia Bielefeld and Rot-Weiss Essen. “It’s going great at the moment. The eight points from the first four games are very good. We want to keep scoring, but we also know how difficult the task is. You have to come up with a plan for every game and be willing to make sacrifices.”
In terms of avoiding relegation, things are looking good after the strong comeback. The first relegation place, 17th, is currently nine points away. In addition, SV Waldhof Mannheim, who are in that place, have to play against third-placed SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball at the same time.
The game between 1. FC Saarbrücken and SpVgg Unterhaching, which should have taken place on Sunday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m., had to be canceled due to the pitch being unplayable.
