Confirmed by the court – nothing stands in the way of a general meeting

At KFC Uerdingen, an extraordinary general meeting must decide whether the current board will be dismissed. Things are now moving forward.

There may now be some movement at Lower Rhine Oberliga club KFC Uerdingen. A few days before the start of the competitive season on Sunday (4 p.m., Grotenburg) in the Lower Rhine Cup against SSV Bergisch Born, it is clear that an extraordinary general meeting can take place shortly.

This is because Uerdingen club members Christoph Epping, Jörg Gredig, and Udo van Koll confirmed on Tuesday that they had received the decision of the Krefeld District Court regarding their application dated June 5 to hold an extraordinary general meeting.

On their own website, they write: “We have been 100 percent confirmed by the court.” This means that Frank Strater, Nils Gehlings, and Christoph Epping may convene a general meeting, at which the following agenda items will be dealt with. Item 1: Report on the situation of KFC by the insolvency administrator Item 2: Presentation of concepts by potential parties (in particular financing, training operations, youth work, proposed individuals, maximum 15 minutes per party)

Agenda item 3: Vote on the following motion: The extraordinary general meeting recommends that the board of directors dismiss the current executive board in its entirety with immediate effect.

This is because the curious situation remains that Thomas Platzer and his colleagues are officially still in office, but have no say in the matter. This is because the insolvency administrator, Thomas Ellrich, had determined that the concept proposed by the Friends and Supporters (FuF) was, in his view, more suitable for leading the club into the future.

If Top3 is now successful and the current board is dismissed, the FuF could receive official legitimation from the members to head the KFC.

Regarding an extraordinary general meeting, the website of the three KFC members Epping, Gredig, and van Koll states: “The court has followed our proposal and appointed Siegfried Thomaßen to chair the meeting. The court has determined that there are no grounds to question the suitability of Siegfried Thomaßen, deputy chairman of the Krefeld City Sports Association, to chair the meeting. We now want to hold the necessary discussions as soon as possible in order to prepare an extraordinary general meeting in a proper manner.”
