Contract with equipment supplier Puma extended – here’s how lucrative the deal is for BVB

Borussia Dortmund is heading into the future with Puma. The contract with the sportswear manufacturer has been extended until 2034.

Borussia Dortmund and sports company Puma have agreed to extend their partnership early until at least June 30, 2034, the club announced on Tuesday afternoon. This editorial team had already reported on the imminent conclusion of the deal.

Puma will continue to outfit the black and yellow teams and develop products for them in the future. According to information available to this editorial team, the deal will bring Dortmund over 300 million euros. Bild even speaks of total revenues of up to 400 million euros.

“Our partnership with Puma has worked so well because we have the same attitude towards football and our values are very similar,” said Carsten Cramer, CEO of Borussia Dortmund, who recently left Fort Lauderdale to finalize the deal. “What we have achieved together so far would not have been possible with any other partner, and we are very much looking forward to continuing on this path in the coming seasons.”

The partnership between BVB and the sporting goods manufacturer from Herzogenaurach has been in place since the 2012/13 season. The previous contract with Puma was actually due to run until 2028, so it has been extended for another six years under new terms. The BVB-Puma era includes reaching the Champions League final in 2013 and 2024 and winning the DFB Cup in 2017 and 2021. In the Club World Cup, the club faces CF Monterrey in the round of 16 tonight.
