Dabrowski’s appeal after losing away – “Please don’t be satisfied…”

Third division club Rot-Weiss Essen is still stuck in the relegation battle. Christoph Dabrowski was annoyed about the 2-1 defeat in Aue.

Eight days after the 4-0 win over Energie Cottbus, Rot-Weiss Essen traveled to Saxony. The destination: an away game at Erzgebirge Aue. It was to be a bitter afternoon.

Even in their eighth attempt, RWE were unable to win at the Erzgebirgsstadion, conceding a 1-2 defeat. Essen did not defend consistently enough and in front, they failed to take several chances. Lucas Brumme was also shown a yellow-red card after the final whistle, which was symbolic of the unfortunate performance of the guests.

Head coach Christoph Dabrowski was understandably frustrated. The former professional was particularly dissatisfied with the first half.

“I’m extremely annoyed about the two goals we conceded in the first half. We lacked energy in our defensive mentality. It’s too easy how we concede the goals. On top of that, we don’t take the good chances we get,” Dabrowski lamented in the ‘Magenta’ interview.

We tried to defend actively and were able to create a few chances through some decent positional play. But: please from the start and please don’t be satisfied after a game like against Cottbus. We have to get consistency, otherwise we’ll be treading water.

Afterwards, the coach from Essen also made an appeal to his team: “I can’t fault the second half at all. We tried to defend actively and were able to create a few chances through some decent positional play. But: please start again from the beginning and please don’t be satisfied after a game like the one against Cottbus. We have to get consistency, otherwise we will be treading water.”

Next week is the international break for the third division. However, Rot-Weiss Essen will not have time off, because on November 16 (1:30 p.m.), the Dabrowski team will be a guest in the fifth division in the Lower Rhine Cup quarterfinals against Oberliga team SV Sonsbeck, where they will be fighting for a spot in the semi-finals.

In the league, the team from Essen will then face the league leaders SV Sandhausen (November 23, 2 p.m.) at Hafenstraße a week later. A point will be a bonus, as RWE is only one place above the relegation zone.
