Darmstadt pro convicted of drink-driving

Midfielder Marvin Mehlem (26) of second division football club Darmstadt 98 was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol on Tuesday.

As reported by Bild-Zeitung, the Königstein district court imposed a fine of 12,000 euros and a four-month driving ban for an incident that occurred in September 2020.

Carsten Wehlmann, Darmstadt’s sporting director, commented via Twitter: “Marvin Mehlem immediately informed us of the private incident at the time and showed himself to be remorseful and reasonable. We dealt with the issue internally accordingly and closed the matter for us.
