The western regional leagues are also busy transferring players. SV Rödinghausen and FC Gütersloh have each introduced another player.
Alexander Höck is moving to the Wiehen from Werder Bremen U23. The 22-year-old central defender, who previously played for Bayer Leverkusen and Viktoria Köln, has signed a contract with SV Rödinghausen until 30.06.2026. The 1.94-metre central defender impressed in trial training, despite a previous long injury. He made 19 appearances for Werder in the Regionalliga Nord and 7 appearances in the 3rd division for Viktoria Köln. “Alex is a young, well-trained defender who is naturally coming out of a difficult phase. He absolutely convinced us in the trial training and proved his potential, which is why we are very much looking forward to him,” said SVR sports director Alexander Müller.
FC Gütersloh have brought a talented goalkeeper from promoted second division side Preußen Münster to the Heidewald. Roman Schabbing (22) was a member of the Preußen third division squad, but played exclusively in the Oberliga reserve team and will take over from Daniel Szczepankiewicz in Gütersloh.
“Roman is a young, talented goalkeeper with great potential. We are delighted that Roman is joining us. With Jarno Peters, Tim Matuschewsky and Roman Schabbing, we are once again ideally positioned in the goalkeeper position,” said FCG sporting director Rob Reekers, who has full confidence in the three FCG goalkeepers.
Schabbing played a total of 27 Oberliga matches for the second team of Preußen Münster. The 1.96 meter tall goalkeeper was trained at MSV Duisburg and moved to Münster three years ago. He is FC Gütersloh’s sixth new signing for the upcoming regional league season.
Justus Henke (SC Paderborn), Henri Bollmann (SCV Neuenbeken), Luis Frieling (SpVg. Vreden), Phil Beckhoff (Wuppertaler SV) and Jannik Borgmann (Rot Weiss Ahlen) are also moving to FCG.
