It is not the season of FC Kray so far! In addition to the sporting misery, the Essen team has to lament frequent absences. Now another injured player has been added to the list.
After the recent 0:4 of FC Kray at KFC Uerdingen, there was a devastating diagnosis for Danilo Curaba.
The FC Kray defender, who had to be substituted injured in Krefeld, has now been diagnosed after an MRI. “The diagnosis is a total knee damage with a ruptured cruciate ligament, torn inner ligament, torn meniscus and a torn tibial plateau. He will therefore be out for the rest of the season. This is simply unbelievable for the boy and for us. We have had to deal with so much adversity this season. We wish Daniel only the best,” Rudi Zedi, who is both sports director and coach, told RevierSport.
At least Joelle Cavit Tomczak is expected to return to training on Thursday. The winger had initially been suspected of a more serious injury. But the fears were not confirmed after an MRI examination.
The Krayers are now off until 27 November 2022, before the next top team awaits Zedi’s team, SSVg Velbert. “We kept up well at KFC, but at the crucial moments we make the mistakes that you must not make. There are simply too many mistakes in our team,” says Zedi.
But the ex-professional is still fighting: “We won’t bury our heads in the sand. I hope that we will score points before the winter break and then maybe strengthen our team. The season is still long. We still believe in staying in the league.”
With which coach the Krayers will approach the calendar year 2023 has not yet been decided. “I’ll see it through until the end of the year, then we’ll sit down together and analyse everything. We’ll see how things go after that,” explains Zedi.
