Defensive ace in the sights of third division club – RWE and Verl are also watching him

After the cancellation of the postponed game between SV Lippstadt and FC Wegberg-Beeck, RS took the opportunity to talk to one of Lippstadt’s key players.

SV Lippstadt 08 is in the relegation battle of the Regionalliga West. Although the team is in the basement, there are some promising talents in coach Felix Bechtold’s squad.

These include, without doubt, the twins Joep and Niek Munsters, who are both 21 years old. According to forecasting information, Joep in particular is already on the radar of a number of higher-ranking clubs, such as third-division sides Rot-Weiss Essen and SC Verl.

It should be emphasized at this point that there have not yet been any negotiations, but that RWE and Verl representatives have watched Joep Munsters in games. According to our information, the same applies to Alemannia Aachen and other top clubs in the Regionalliga West division.

“I’m staying out of it for now and I’m not asking my agent either. I’m fully focused on the relegation battle with SV Lippstadt. We definitely want to stay up at the end of the season and I want to help the team achieve this goal at every opportunity,” the native Dutchman from Eindhoven emphasizes to Forecasting.

The Bundesliga would be my dream. Of course I would also like to play in the Eredivisie, but the Bundesliga is a completely different ball game. Let’s see what the future brings. My goal is to stay in the league with Lippstadt first. I feel very comfortable here and I’m happy to be at this club.

Joep Munsters

And his future after the season? Munsters replies: “I want to make a decision about my future around Easter. I can’t and won’t say more at this point in time.”

It’s obvious that Munsters, who has a strong left foot and can play in both central defense and defensive midfield, is on the radar of some clubs.

He is an absolute key player in the SVL team and has only missed five minutes of the current season – he has played 17 of 18 matches from start to finish. He is highly trained – including at PSV Eindhoven – and will still be a U23 player next season.

Even if Munsters does not yet know where he will be playing in the 2024/2025 season, he has his sights set high for the future. “The Bundesliga would be my dream. Of course, I would also like to play in the Eredivisie, but the Bundesliga is a completely different ball game. We’ll see what the future brings. My goal is to stay up with Lippstadt first. I feel very comfortable here and am happy to be at this club. SVL definitely deserves to be in the Regionalliga. We will give our all as a team to ensure that the club remains in the fourth division in the future,” emphasizes Munsters, who has played a total of 48 Regionalliga games so far.
