Following the cancellation of the catch-up match between SV Lippstadt and FC Wegberg-Beeck, RS took the opportunity to speak to one of Lippstadt’s key players.
SV Lippstadt 08 are in the relegation battle in the Regionalliga West. Although the team is in the basement, coach Felix Bechtold’s squad includes a number of promising talents.
These undoubtedly include the twins Joep and Niek Munsters, who are both 21 years old. Forecasting information indicates that Joep, in particular, is already on the radar of several higher-class clubs such as third-division clubs Rot-Weiss Essen and SC Verl.
It should be emphasized at this point that there have not yet been any negotiations, but there have been match observations in which RWE and Verl representatives have taken a close look at Joep Munster. According to our information, this also applies to Alemannia Aachen and other top clubs in the Regionalliga West division.
“I’m staying out of it at the moment and I’m not asking my consultant agency. My full focus is on the relegation battle with SV Lippstadt. We absolutely want to be above the bottom line at the end of the season and I want to help the team achieve this goal at every opportunity,” the Eindhoven-born Dutchman emphasized to Forecasting.
The Bundesliga would be my dream. Of course, I’d also like to play in the Eredivisie, but the Bundesliga is a completely different ball game. Let’s see what the future holds. For now, my goal is to keep Lippstadt in the league. I feel very comfortable here and am happy to be at this club.
Joep Munsters
And his future after the season? Munsters replies: “I want to make a decision about my future around Easter. That’s all I can and want to say at this point. “
It’s obvious that Munsters, who has a strong left foot and can play both in central defense and defensive midfield, is on the radar of several clubs.
He is an absolute key player in the SVL team and has missed just five minutes this season, playing 17 of 18 matches from the start to the final whistle. He has received top training – including at PSV Eindhoven – and will still be an U23 player next season.
Even if Munsters does not yet know where he will be playing in the 2024/2025 season, he wants to aim high in the future. “The Bundesliga would be my dream. Of course, I’d also like to play in the Eredivisie, but the Bundesliga is a completely different ball game. Let’s see what the future holds. For now, my goal is to keep Lippstadt in the league. I feel very comfortable here and am happy to be at this club. SVL definitely deserves to be in the regional league. As a team, we will do everything we can to ensure that the club remains a fourth-division club in the future,” emphasized Munsters, who has played a total of 48 regional league matches to date.
