Spanish national coach Jorge Vilda said after his women’s team’s defeat: “The girls were angry because we wanted to win the game. Apart from the two mistakes, we deserved more. Now we have to recover and do something for morale. Nothing is decided yet because there is still the match against Denmark.”
Nothing has been decided in Group C either, where the Swiss women will face co-favourites Sweden in the evening. Later in the evening, the Netherlands will play Portugal.
Germany will play either Norway or Austria in the first knockout round on 21.7.
