The first and second division clubs from Germany can breathe a sigh of relief. No club has been denied a license by the DFL.
The German Football League (DFL) has made initial decisions in the licensing process of the Bundesliga as well as the 2nd League for the upcoming 2023/24 season, not denying any of the 47 applicants the right to play. However, some clubs must fulfill conditions by the beginning of June in order to be granted playing rights in the event of sporting qualification. Other clubs received the license subject to conditions.
The clubs can appeal the initial decision within a week. The DFL’s second decision is scheduled for early May. After that, the affected clubs will have five days to appeal again. The final decision on the possible fulfillment of conditions and the awarding of licenses to these applicants is scheduled for mid-June.
