“Disgusting” – Club responds to hatred against Manga and attacks X

After the 0-1 defeat in Hanover, there have been racist comments about Ben Manga. The club stands behind its squad planner and strongly criticizes the platform ”X.”

The crisis at Schalke 04 has not been resolved by the personnel changes in Gelsenkirchen. The Royal Blues lost to Hannover 96 in Kees van Wonderen’s debut after a weak performance and gained little encouragement for the tasks ahead. This is also making the fans nervous, who are not holding back with their criticism of the club.

However, some so-called “fans” are also using offensive language or even insulting Schalke officials in the worst possible way. The latest target of the attacks is squad planner Ben Manga, who had to read racist comments about himself on social media after the defeat in the Lower Saxony capital.

Schalke reacted angrily on Monday – and also lashed out at the platform “X.” S04 posted an example of comments about Manga with screenshots: a user had repeatedly called for the 50-year-old to be fired, using racist language on several occasions.

According to “X,” a report from Schalke was reviewed, but the platform did not find any violations in the offensive words. This is met with incomprehension by the second division club. Accompanied by the screenshots, the club issued the following statement: “This is what we had to read about Ben Manga here over the weekend. There is no place for racism and discrimination of any kind at Schalke! Obviously, there is at your place, @X.”

“Disgusting. Are you really serious?” concludes the post from the miners, who then address the user directly in another post, stating: ‘You are more than unwelcome here, and you are not a Schalke fan either!’

Numerous Schalke fans agree with this statement and praise the club for its post. “If only we were as first-class in sports as we are in morals – my club!” ‘It remains the same: Schalke against all racism!’ and ‘This is the club I love,’ say the fans, who overwhelmingly support Manga – despite all the uncertainty surrounding the club, Schalke wants to stick together.
