District league club SV Burgaltendorf is one of the top teams. The SVA will once again put together a powerful squad next year.
SV Burgaltendorf celebrated an emotional 4:3 victory in the chasing duel against Tusem Essen last matchday. In this game, SVA turned a 0:2 and 1:3 deficit into a home win and climbed to third place in the table. The winning goal was scored by veteran Kevin Barra from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
Coach Sascha Hense, who is in charge on the touchline together with his fellow coach Andreas Krippel, was correspondingly pleased with the third win in the third game after the winter break: “I’m extremely proud of the boys. What we’re currently doing is phenomenal. We’ve shown great morale. That was a great start to the rest of the round. We’re on the right track. We can continue like this.”
The district league club continues on Sunday (March 10, 2 p.m.) with a difficult away match at SuS Haarzopf. Regardless of the outcome of the season, Burgaltendorf is already setting the course for the future.
After the coaching team (Hense/Krippel + goalkeeping coach Schmidt) had already extended their contracts, a total of 17 players followed suit: Leon Metke, Maurice Tavio Y Huete, Mustafa Anwar, Ricardo Zweck, Jose Mario Goncalves, Mike Justenhofen, Michael Seidelmann, Georgios Ketsatis, Fabian Graf, Kevin Barra, Jonas Altenkamp, Alkan Albayrak, Felix Scheider, Kai Nakowitsch, Marcel Glahn, Jonas Rölver and Dylan Grün will continue to lace up their boots at the Windmühle in 2024/25.
Hense is delighted with the many extensions: “We wanted to extend with 17 outfield players and have managed to do so. The players have been presented with our philosophy for the next three years and are keen to go down this new path with us. As coaches, we’re naturally proud that all the players quickly agreed to stay. Every single extension is important for us and makes it easier for us to plan for the next season.”
Because one thing is clear: Burgaltendorf would like to return to the national league as soon as possible. There is a three-year plan, as Hense explains: “Our goal will always be the top flight. After long discussions about the conceptual direction of the club, we want to return to the national league in the next three years. There will be a change for us, but it will take two or three years,” emphasizes the 46-year-old.
Hense continues: “We will also be heavily involving our youngsters, who will be an important part of our philosophy from now on. But that won’t happen overnight. The aim is to see “healthy” regional league soccer in Burgaltendorf again. “
Many young players have given us their commitment. Two or three players with experience, who will strengthen us in certain positions, are also coming to the Windmühle. All the new players are keen on the new direction and we are happy that we will have almost our entire squad for the new season by the beginning of March.

In addition to the 17 extensions, external players will of course also join the squad. The final official announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
Hense: “Our squad planning is almost complete. There will be some new faces in our team. Many young players have given us their commitment. Two or three players with experience, who will strengthen us in certain positions, will also be coming to the Windmühle. All the new players are keen on the new direction and we are happy that we will have almost our entire squad for the new season by the beginning of March. “
