A club from the Westfalen 13 district league has announced a high-profile new signing. An experienced regional league player is coming.
Kevin Kahlert played almost 300 games in the regional league. After the winter break, the 34-year-old defensive player will then play in the district league. He is moving to TuS Schwarz-Gelb Oestinghausen. The club from the district of Soest announced this shortly after Christmas.
TuS is currently in second place in Division 13 of the Westfalen District League, eight points behind the leaders and with one game more played than the front-runners Hövelhofer SV. But the club has big ambitions, as the signing of Kahlert shows.
“With Kevin, we are getting the necessary experience, especially in defense, which will certainly give us more stability in close games,” says player and squad planner Moritz Pipers, pleased with the transfer coup. ”Kevin’s presence on the pitch will help our young, talented players to resolve tricky situations and develop even faster.”
Kahlert comes from the youth ranks of VfL Wolfsburg and subsequently played for many years in the northeast and north divisions of the Regionalliga for clubs such as TSG Neustrelitz, Viktoria Berlin and Berliner AK.
At the end of 2020, he transferred to Rot Weiss Ahlen in the Regionalliga West. There, the experienced player wore the captain’s armband until his departure at the end of last season. In total, he gained experience from 284 fourth division matches. Since the summer, Kahlert played for the A-league team TuS Uentrop. Now he continues in the Bezirksliga.
Dominic Möller, who was hired as sporting director in Oestinghausen a few weeks ago and is good friends with Kahlert, was partly responsible for the change. “I’m looking forward to the new challenge, especially because Oestinghausen has huge potential. Besides, there was no doubt about the project in Oestinghausen, because I want to continue working with Dominic and we think alike,” Kahlert explained his change.
