VfL Bochum have been waiting five games for a win. Will the relegation battle now even become an issue again? An overview of the remaining schedule.
After VfL Bochum’s 3:2 win against FC Bayern Munich on Sunday, February 18, few would have thought that this would be followed by five games in a row without a three-pointer.
After four defeats in a row, the most recent was a 2-2 draw against SV Darmstadt 98. “Series of defeats halted” say some, “2-0 lead squandered” say others.
All in all, the result is 15th place, with Bochum still six points clear of the 16th relegation spot. However, neighbors VfL Wolfsburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Union Berlin are not quite out of the basement yet either.
In the season finale, the teams in the bottom third of the table still have some direct duels to play. FC Köln, for example, still have to play four direct rivals in seven games. SV Darmstadt 98 also still has a chance of salvation, albeit a slim one. An overview of the remaining programs of the teams from twelfth place in the table. Direct matches are bolded
