Türkspor Dortmund has quickly acclimatized to the Oberliga Westfalen after promotion – and has now strengthened its squad for the second half of the season.
Things are going well at Türkspor Dortmund: after promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen, the team is also showing its skills one level higher and is in a strong 4th place in the table at the break.
And coach Sebastian Tyrala’s team also performed very well under the roof. Türkspor Dortmund won the 2024 title at the Dortmund Indoor City Championship.
With the momentum from the indoor competition, the team should continue to perform well in the second half of the Oberliga Westfalen season. From now on, Hakan Sezer will also do everything he can to ensure that Türkspor continues to have a successful season.
Forecasting has learned that the 29-year-old is moving from SV Westfalia Rhynern to Türkspor Dortmund on a permanent deal. Official confirmation from the clubs is still pending
Sezer has played eleven matches for Rhynern this season, scoring six goals. Overall, he has impressive statistics in the Oberliga – Sezer’s record in the 5th division: 65 appearances, 46 goals!
Sezer has also played one league higher, in the Regionalliga West. Here, the striker made a total of 35 appearances in the fourth division for SV Lippstadt and Rot Weiss Ahlen (three goals, two assists).
Türkspor are currently eleven points behind league leaders Sportfreunde Lotte and eight points behind second-placed ASC 09 Dortmund. As a reminder, the champions and runners-up from the Oberliga Westfalen will ultimately be promoted to the Regionalliga.
Tyrala has already stated the goal for the second half of the season: “We want to upset a few more teams and win every game. But we’re not talking about promotion now. Before the season, we set ourselves the target of finishing in the top six. We’re sticking to that. If one or two other teams slip up, we’ll gladly take it. After the defeat at ASC 09 Dortmund, some people said that we’re now back at the top. For God’s sake. We’ll take it as it comes. “
