After the Spielvereinigung Sterkrade-Nord managed to stay in the Landesliga, the captain said goodbye. Now his new destination is also known.
After around two years, Oguzhan Cuhaci is leaving Spielvereinigung Sterkrade-Nord.
“I am looking for a new challenge, whether that will be as a player, playing coach or co-coach, I don’t know yet. In any case, I want to try something new and get back to enjoying football,” the 172-time Oberliga player told Forecasting just three weeks ago.
Now it is known where the experienced 32-year-old offensive player is heading. He is moving to Landesliga relegated SV Genc Osman in Duisburg. “I have known Ilyas Basol for a very long time. He has told me time and again that the time will come at some point when we will work together. Now it is the case. I’m really looking forward to this new chapter at SV Genc Osman,” explains Cuhaci.
Cuhaci, who played for clubs such as Homberg, Hamborn, Sterkrade-Nord and FSV Duisburg in the 5th division, was also keen on the uncomplicated way home. “I live in Dinslaken, I’ve become a dad and it’s clear that I don’t want to drive 50 kilometres to training any more. Now it will be a good ten kilometres to the SV Genc Osman pitch. I really can’t complain about that,” says Cuhaci.
We definitely have a decent team together. But so do the other teams. I don’t want to blurt anything out at this point, but those who know me know that I’m an ambitious player and certainly don’t want to play for 10th place in the table.

In the new season, the previous sixth league team will now continue in the district league. Probably even in a 20-team season. Cuhaci: “First we have to make sure that we arrive in the league and get off to a good start. We definitely have a decent team. But so do the other teams. I don’t want to say anything at this point, but those who know me know that I’m an ambitious player and certainly don’t want to play for 10th place in the league. We will see what is possible for us in the end. First of all, we have to do a good preparation. “
