MSV Duisburg remained unbeaten at 1. FC Köln for the fourth time in a row, winning 4:2. Schalke were also able to celebrate, while Leverkusen narrowly avoided a slip-up.
On matchday 13 of the A-Junior Bundesliga West, MSV Duisburg faced a challenging task at fifth-placed 1. FC Köln. However, the Zebras, who went into the matchday in eighth place with 15 points from their first twelve games, had already been unbeaten four times in a row.
Kaan Inanoglu, who many MSV supporters have wanted to see in the professional ranks for weeks, had another good day at the Franz Kremer Stadium. He took the lead after 23 minutes, which Jaka Potocnik was initially able to equalize (34′). But shortly after the 1:1, the Duisburg striker was on hand again and scored his eighth goal of the season to take the lead at the break (39′).
After the break, it was a double strike from Kasper Harbering (61) and Enes Rüzgar (62). That sealed the away win. Potocnik’s second goal of the day to make it 2:4 came too late from Cologne’s point of view.
Amoussou-Tchibara excels for S04
Schalke were also able to celebrate away from home – and had one player in particular to thank for that: Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara. The Togolese winger excelled at Fortuna Düsseldorf with a treble (42nd/70th/86th) and shot his team to a 3-0 victory at the Paul Janes Stadium almost single-handedly. In the meantime, goalkeeper Luca Podlech saved a penalty against Mechak Quiala-Tito (58′).
BVB’s closest rivals Leverkusen, meanwhile, narrowly avoided a major slip-up. The Werkself took an early lead through Enes Yilmaz (6′) at basement side Viktoria Köln, but Said El Mala (54′) and Sisco Ngambia Dzonga (61′) surprisingly turned the game around after the break. Viktoria were not rewarded for their efforts, however, as Raoul Petak scored the winner for Bayer 04 in the fourth minute of stoppage time after Francis Onyeka had equalized. The Werkself thus moved three points ahead of Borussia Dortmund at the top – albeit with three more games to play.
and (38) equalized in the 80th minute to make the final score 1:1. The team from Essen thus remain above the line.
