There is also a lot going on in terms of transfers in the Mittelrheinliga. Two teams have presented exciting new signings.
KFC Uerdingen recently said goodbye to Malcom Scheibner, a 21-year-old right-back. After two Oberliga appearances in the current season, it is now clear where he will be heading. Scheibner is moving to 1. FC Düren in the Mittelrheinliga. The 21-year-old joined KFC from there in the summer, but was unable to establish himself in the blue and red jersey. Scheibner was one of the players who made it into the Regionalliga squad of 1. FC Düren at the end of last season through the casting. He played five Regionalliga matches there. Previously, he played for SV Babelsberg and in the youth team at Borussia Mönchengladbach. “Malcom is a right-back with tremendous offensive drive who knows how to use his speed in this position. He has regional league experience and a lot of potential,” said KFC coach Julian Stöhr before the season. However, he mostly relied on Seongsun You, whom Scheibner was unable to surpass.
1. FC Düren, relegated from the Regionalliga, is currently in eighth place and thus in the gray midfield of the Mittelrheinliga.
The same cannot be said of the second relegated team, Eintracht Hohkeppel. The club is in second place and is the closest pursuer of league leaders Bergisch Gladbach 09, currently five points behind.
Tarik Dogan is expected to help close this gap with immediate effect. The defensive player is joining on a free transfer from Regionalliga West, as Bonner SC and Dogan recently agreed to terminate his existing contract with immediate effect. The defensive player had been in the Rheinlöwen squad since the 2023/24 season and played 45 championship games during that time. “We needed someone in that position. Tarik brings a lot of winning mentality and knows how to get promoted to the Regionalliga. He was the undisputed leader of both Bonner SC and FC Hennef, winning the Oberliga championship with both clubs. His heading ability is impressive. His experienced style of play will be a great asset to our defense,” said Hohkeppel’s sporting director Kevin Theisen. Hohkeppel’s new signing is also looking forward to his new role: “I am very excited to be playing for Eintracht from now on. Together with the team, we want to achieve our goals and be successful,” said Dogan.
