Borussia Dortmund won their third test match with ease. A clear 5:0 (4:0) victory was achieved at third-division club SC Verl
The fact that Ole Pohlmann is not supposed to play a role in the professional team was probably already clear to those interested in Verl when the name on his jersey with the number 49 was covered with a yellow stripe because it actually belonged to another player. In BVB’s 5:0 (4:0) victory in the test match against SC Verl, however, that Pohlmann, normally an offensive player in Borussia Dortmund’s second team, certainly knew how to draw attention to himself.
In the 16th minute, captain Marco Reus did not let three Verl players stop him from playing a wonderful pass to Ole Pohlmann, who dribbled into the middle on the left and scored from just under 16 metres.
Also in the first half, this time it was Pohlmann who released Youssoufa Moukoko. The 17-year-old, for whom it is still unclear whether he will extend his contract, tunneled past goalkeeper Niclas Thiede. This was followed by the performance of Mahmoud Dahoud, who scored a goal that would appear in annual reviews if it had not only been scored in a test match. His shot from around 20 metres almost stuck in the right angle (37th). Finally, Moukoko ran at goalkeeper Thiede again, this time rounding him (42.). 4:0.
BVB defender Mats Hummels heads into the goal – but is offside
Some things worked out from Dortmund’s point of view, although the internationals, who only started their preparation later, did not play at all in this match. Shortly after the half-time break, Mats Hummels headed in the fifth goal, but it was taken back because the defender had been offside.
And what else? Antonios Papadopoulos, normally in Dortmund’s second team, knew how to please, hurling himself into every duel. Prince Aning, only 18 years old, once again showed his great talent. He even stole the ball from Mats Hummels, who actually wanted to take the penalty kick, and converted himself for 5:0 (54.).
BVB training camp in Switzerland starts on Friday
In the 60th minute, Moukoko and Aning left the pitch, Bradley Fink and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens were allowed to do some self-promotion, which was especially successful for Bynoe-Gittens. On Friday, BVB will now travel to Switzerland, where the training camp will begin in Bad Ragaz.
