Madness at Essen’s Hafenstraße: In the fourth minute of injury time, Rot-Weiss Essen scored the winning goal in the third division duel against Preußen Münster to make it 1:0 (94th). Thomas Eisfeld made the stadium tremble with a powerful shot from close range, and the first win of the season in the fourth game was perfect.
The fans and RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski, who danced wildly in the circle after the final whistle, were relieved: “That was a huge step forward. That feels incredibly good.”

For a long time, it looked as if the Essen fans would have to be put off. The decisive goal for the hosts would not come – despite the best chances. RWE striker Moussa Doumbouya (5th, 18th, 19th) missed the best opportunities against the rivals from Münsterland in the first half. In the 81st minute, Marvin Obuz only hit the far post. Desperation spread among the 18,771 Essen supporters in the Hafenstraße stadium.
In injury time, Thomas Eisfeld finally redeemed the supporters and his club after strong preparation by Cedric Harenbrock. “The goal was brutally important, and in front of our own fans. I was really pleased,” said the RWE match-winner afterwards in an interview with Magenta Sport.
