Eintracht Braunschweig is the team of the moment in the Bundesliga 2. The euphoria is also great among the fans. On Saturday, the full squad will travel to S04.
Eintracht Braunschweig are currently the team of the moment in Bundesliga 2. After four wins in a row recently, the team from Lower Saxony, who already seemed to be relegated, are back within striking distance of the non-relegation places.
With only a four-goal goal difference separating them from FC Schalke 04, it’s no wonder that the euphoria surrounding coach Daniel Scherning’s team is huge.
This is also reflected in the number of fans traveling to the away game at Schalke on Saturday. Almost 6,000 fans of the sixteenth-placed team in the table will accompany the team to the relegation thriller in Gelsenkirchen. “The entire guest area is sold out!” the club announced on its homepage.
That would be more than twice as many as in the season so far. According to the portal “fussballmafia.de”, Braunschweig is currently in 9th place in the away attendance table. An average of 2,441 supporters have accompanied the team in the nine away games so far. As expected at Schalke, 6,000 fans also attended the away match against Hertha BSC at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The fewest fans were at Karlsruher SC. There were only 670 supporters.
To ensure that the BTSV fans get to the Ruhr area easily, Deutsche Bahn is using a relief train for 1,200 people. The special feature: It is not a through train, but the fans have to change trains at the station in Minden. They have half an hour to do this. They have to get up early anyway. Because the departure from Braunschweig is at 06:55. The first train leaves Minden at 08:05 and continues at 08:36. At 11.07 a.m. the train stops at Gelsenkirchen main station as scheduled.
The trains will be escorted by the club’s security service. 400 authorization vouchers were issued free of charge on presentation of the ticket. The remaining 800 were for all-comers, members and fan organizations. After the game, the return journey will be at 4.53 pm.
This should also mean that the Schalke Arena will be almost sold out again against Eintracht Braunschweig with over 60,000 spectators
