Sportfreunde Siegen have announced the arrival of another new player. A talent from a second division club will be loaned out for one year.
After the disastrous season and the near-relegation from the Oberliga Westfalen, Sportfreunde Siegen want to attack again after the summer break with a squad that has changed in many areas.
In doing so, they are relying primarily on players from the region – including the eleventh new addition, which the traditional club has now announced. Marvin Schulz returns to the Sportfreunde. The 19-year-old has been loaned out for one year by SC Paderborn.
Schulz is no stranger to Leimbachtal. The striker already spent a few years in the youth department of the Siegen club before he moved from the U17 to FC Lennestadt two years ago and aroused the interest of Paderborn with ten goals in 15 appearances in the Westfalenliga.
At the beginning of this year, he made the switch to East Westphalia. There, Schulz went back to the youth sector and scored three goals in four games for the U19 Bundesliga team of the second division club.
He has all the prerequisites to play an important role in our team.

In Siegen, Schulz will meet former teammates who now also play for the Oberliga team. “That’s already outstanding, to now play where I usually only watched from the stands,” he comments on his loan move. “I’m really looking forward to meeting the team and the fans! You don’t need to say much more about them either, they are fully there in good times and bad and push the boys.”
Meanwhile, coach Patrick Helmes is looking forward to a “young player with exciting potential. He could see on the ground that young players definitely get their chance in Siegen. He has all the prerequisites to play an important role in our team. With his way of playing football, he can inspire people.”
