After the break, Bilbija did better when he pushed the ball over the line after a perfect cross from Brackelmann. Shortly afterwards, Curda converted a cross from Ruben Müller. Karlsruhe SC narrowly avoided another setback and restored their connection to the top of the table. The ambitious KSC won 1-0 (0-0) against bottom-of-the-table 1. FC Magdeburg, but had to work hard for it.
Christoph Kobald scored the winning goal for KSC shortly before the end (84th minute), celebrating their fourth win of the season. Karlsruhe had previously lost 3-0 in Kiel. Magdeburg, on the other hand, remains in crisis despite a committed performance. For SCM, it was already the sixth defeat in seven games this season, the fifth in a row.

Magdeburg’s poor start to the season was not apparent at first. The visitors played lively in an eventful first half and even had the better chances before the break. But both teams lacked determination in front of goal. KSC increased the tempo after the break. Magdeburg defended resolutely, however, and remained very dangerous on occasional counterattacks. The shortcoming: the finish.
