After two wins recently, second division relegated Dynamo Dresden suffered another defeat in the 3rd division. The Saxons lost 1:2 (1:2) at Viktoria Köln. Ahmet Arslan (14th) gave Dynamo the lead, but Robin Meißner (23rd/43rd) put the Rhinelanders 2-1 ahead at half-time. It was the third win in a row for Viktoria after victories over Wehen Wiesbaden (1-0) and Rot-Weiss Essen.
1860 München managed their fourth win in their fourth game of the season with Meris Skenderovic’s late goal (90.+2) for a 1-0 (0-0) win at SC Verl and maintained their lead in the standings. FC Ingolstadt and 1. FC Saarbrücken, who drew goalless in the top match, follow in second and third place with ten points. FC Ingolstadt will host Rot-Weiss Essen next Saturday (20 August, 2 p.m.). RWE remained without a win in their fourth match. The league newcomers were beaten 1-0 by Borussia Dortmund II.
Meanwhile, promoted SV Elversberg, cup sensation winners against Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, continue to cause a stir. The Spielvereinigung won 5:0 (2:0) against FSV Zwickau. Luca Schnellbacher (53/56), Jannik Rochelt (7), Manuel Feil (31) and Valdrin Mustafa (81) scored the goals. Zwickau goalkeeper Johannes Brinkies even saved a penalty kick by Mustafa (22nd). The Saarlanders now have nine points to their name.
