Only four games were played on matchday 16 of Westfalenliga 2, with one promoted team continuing to cause a stir.
Even before TuS Erndtebrück stepped onto the pitch, it was clear that they would leave it as the Westfalenliga 2 fall champions. The fact that neither Holzwickeder SC nor Concordia Wiemelhausen were able to compete on match day 16 due to the weather conditions meant that Erndtebrück could no longer be displaced from first place.
Nevertheless, the relegated Oberliga team’s celebratory mood is likely to have been limited. They suffered a 2-1 defeat at promoted SV Westfalia Soest to round off the year. As a result, Soest jumped to second place and are even level on points with Erndtebrück. However, the league leaders have the significantly better goal difference.
FC Iserlohn kept in touch with the top of the table with a 2-0 win against Hombrucher SV. The Iserlohn side had already scored before the break.
That’s how it initially looked in the city derby between DSC Wanne-Eickel and SV Sodingen. Michel Post (45.+1) had given Sodingen the lead in the first half. However, Wanne-Eickel did not give up and equalized in the 90th minute. Sodingen thus jumped out of the relegation places, but missed out on gaining a little breathing space. Despite the lucky punch, DSC have been without a win for four games
Promoted SpVgg Horsthausen also ended the year with a defeat. They suffered a 1-0 defeat against SV Wacker Obercastrop. Elvis Shala made the away win clear with his eleventh goal of the season (60′).
