The squad planning for the 2024/2025 season continues at ESC Rellinghausen. Four departures are fixed, as is a new goalkeeping coach.
After many contract extensions and several external additions, the Essen-based regional league club ESC Rellinghausen has now announced that four players will no longer be playing at Krausen Bäumchen.
Jakob Zec, Robin Wicker (both destination unknown), Serkan Özer (Tusem Essen) and Ezekiel Oluwa Pelumi Adebisi (Spvvg. Sterkrade-Nord) will leave Rellinghausen at the end of the season.
Wicker will not only change clubs after three years, but also the city. He is moving to another region due to his studies.
“Robin has always struggled with injuries and unfortunately only made 32 appearances for the first team. Jakob Zec was with us for two years and made eleven appearances. As an absolute team player, we were keen to keep him, but we can fully understand his decision to finally become number one. Where that will be is not yet known,” said the ESC management.
Özer, who came to Rellinghausen in the winter of 2023 and made a total of 23 appearances, is returning to his former club Tusem Essen in the Bezirksliga – Forecasting reported.
Adebisi is leaving the ESC after just one season. The speedy winger will join Sportvereinigung Sterkrade-Nord. According to the ESC board: “For him, university is the main focus. The effort of coming to the south of Essen has become too much for him. We wish all four of them every success in their future careers, both athletically, privately and professionally.”
Lukas Raeder to further develop the ESC talents
Meanwhile, the Essen regional league club has also welcomed a prominent addition. The management board pulled off a real transfer coup during the week.
With Lukas Raeder, a former professional – the goalkeeper was under contract with clubs such as FC Bayern Munich, Bradford City, MSV Duisburg and Rot-Weiss Essen – will take over the training of the young keepers at Krausen Bäumchen. The 2013 treble winner with FC Bayern is to be part of the U19 coaching staff and coach the goalkeepers at U17/U19 level.
Raeder once started his career at the merged club ESV 10/21 and later also played for ESC Rellinghausen.
