Essen Landesliga club finds new goal scorer – “At the last moment”.

ESC Rellinghausen has found a new striker. He comes from a team promoted to the Oberliga.

ESC Rellinghausen has its squad for the coming season in large parts together. However, coach Sascha Behnke’s team has recently been lacking a striker.

In this respect, too, the Essen Landesliga club has now been able to announce the signing of a new striker – “at the last moment”, as the club writes in a Facebook post in reference to the transfer deadlines. Berkan Eken is to start scoring goals for the 06ers in the coming season. The 23-year-old comes to Rellinghausen from FC Büderich.

Eken spent the second half of last season there and celebrated promotion to the Oberliga Niederrhein. He contributed one goal in eight appearances. The attacker had a much better record during his time with A-League side Essener SG: 51 goals in 42 appearances under coach Leon Nolte, who is now assistant coach at ESC.

The Rellinghausen team already wanted to bring Eken into the team in the winter, and now it has worked out in the second attempt. “He will make our game more variable in the front line,” writes the ESC.
