Essen Landesligist strikes at city neighbor

Despite the relegation battle, ESC Rellinghausen has presented a third new signing for next season. A talent comes from ETB.

Three match days before the end of the season, ESC Rellinghausen cannot breathe easy yet. The Essen-based club is still not sure of staying in the Landesliga Niederrhein 3, but is above the line and can therefore save itself on its own merits.

Regardless of the future league affiliation, another new addition for the coming season has been confirmed. With Linus Butz, the ESC has signed a young talent. The defensive midfielder comes from ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen and currently plays in the U19 of the neighbor from the south of Essen.

In Rellinghausen, he wants to master the leap to the senior level in the coming season. Butz has agreed regardless of the possible relegation, the ESC announced. He brings “a good size with him, shows a quick grasp and knows how to free himself in pressure situations also playfully”, praises his future club.

This is another part of the upcoming team, after the Rellinghäuser had already signed goalkeeper Dennis Hornig (Teutonia Überruhr) and central defender Leon Lieske (VfB Frohnhausen).

In addition, captain Dominik Huxholt, Niklas Piljic and Simon Neuse as well as Luca Krämer, Robin Wicker, Adrian Saitovski, Julian Bluni, Eugen Pirogov and Erik May have signed contract extensions. In addition, Leon Nolte and Henning Honisch, two new co-coaches, will support long-time head coach Sascha Behne starting in the summer.
