After two wins in two games under Ersan Parlatan, Wuppertaler SV are dreaming of a return to the 3rd division after more than a decade.
Wuppertaler SV are currently seven points behind Alemannia Aachen and 1. FC Bocholt. The two are level on points at the top – Aachen just have the better goal difference compared to Bocholt by two goals.
When Ersan Parlatan took over as WSV coach, he emphasized in the Forecasting interview: “I’m a clear-minded person who doesn’t bake unnecessary small rolls. I want to get promoted to the 3rd division with Wuppertaler SV. We still have every opportunity. My task now is to find the missing percentages that are necessary for success. If we manage to do that, then there is still a chance to get closer. You can always make up a nine-point deficit in 15 remaining games. I’m convinced of that.”
No sooner said than done: the first two games were won and the gap to the top was reduced from nine to seven points. There are still 13 games to go.
Gaetano Manno, manager of the Red & Blue, is currently very satisfied and feels a new sense of togetherness. “We are growing as a team. It wasn’t always like that in the first half of the season. Now we’re celebrating goals like we did in the first few games – on the pitch, on the substitutes’ bench and in the stands. We have to accept the coach’s decisions. Everyone is needed, everyone has to work hard. Whoever comes in gives everything. I think we’re on the right track again,” said Manno in the “Wuppertaler Rundschau.”
My goal is to define the path early on with the club and the financial backers. Even if the budget is reduced, I believe that we can field a good team

On the table situation, Manno said: “Of course we want to finish higher. But we’re doing well by just looking at ourselves from game to game. We said at the start of the year that we want to work well.”
He wants to continue to do that with WSV in the future – despite the smaller budget announced by patron Friedhelm Runge – Forecasting reported – for the 2024/2025 season. Manno is convinced that Wuppertaler SV can put together a strong squad even with smaller financial resources – regardless of the league.
WSV is currently preparing the license applications for the Regionalliga (by 31 March), but also for the 3rd division (by 1 March). Manno in the “WR”: “My goal is to determine the path early on with the club and the financial backers. Even if the budget would be less, I believe that we can put together a good team. “
