Does VfL Bochum manage the third strike in a row? On Friday (20:30), the VfL is the guest of Eintracht Frankfurt.
VfL Bochum recently celebrated two victories. They won 2-0 at 1. FC Köln and 1-0 against top team RB Leipzig. The two victories are also closely linked to the return of captain Anthony Losilla, who had previously served a red suspension.
With the return of the veteran, there were two victories that resulted in VfL leaving the relegation places. What’s more, coach Thomas Letsch’s team was able to build up a small cushion (four points) on 16th place – the relegation spot.
Now it’s off to Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday. A difficult away game, even if Eintracht has recently gone a little off course. Losilla turned 37 against Cologne, and against Leipzig he played his 300th game for VfL Bochum.
For Eintracht, it must now work out without an anniversary. In the run-up to the match, the team was given four days off, Losilla stayed at home, as he explained: “The children had school, so we stayed in Bochum. We had been given a programme to keep fit.”
Ahead of the final spurt in the Bundesliga, confidence is back in Bochum with the two unexpected trebles. Losilla senses that too: “After the difficult phase, the two wins did us good. Especially because they were against two very good opponents. Now we have to follow up, even if it will be a tough task in Frankfurt.”
The basis of the last encounters was the defensive work, twice the zero stood, previously the VfL was dubbed as the shooting gallery of the league. Losilla: “We know that the defence is the basis. If we are stable here, we always have our chances. “
