A few months after fleeing Iran, Jürgen Locadia has found a new club. He is moving to China.
Last season Jürgen Locadia scored for VfL Bochum against Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern, now the 29-year-old striker continues his career in China.
Locadia was introduced as a new addition to Cangzhou Mighty Lions. The club will start in the Super League next week and finished the preseason in twelfth place in the table of the Chinese elite division.
Locadia is one of 13 new arrivals so far – and probably the best-known player in the squad in Europe. The Dutchman has been clubless in recent months, playing in Iran until last December.
At Persepolis FC, Locadia terminated his contract after leaving the country due to security concerns over the political situation.
In Bochum, Locadia had spent the second half of last season. Arriving on loan from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, the attacker experienced a mixed six months at Castroper Straße. In eleven appearances, mostly as a substitute, he saved his two goals for the highlight matches against BVB and Bayern.
