The Hallesche FC could strengthen itself prominently in the third division relegation battle. On the list is an experienced former Duisburg defender.
Can Hallesche FC get a grip on their defensive problems? 48 goals conceded in 22 third division games are clearly too many to stay in the league. But even though HFC has the worst defense in the league, the team from Halle is still in the running. The defensive midfielder Yannick Stark could now help.
The former Dresden player is currently on a trial training period at Halle. “The question is how quickly he can help a team and what his fitness level is,” Halle’s sporting director Thomas Sobotzik told MDR.
Stark last played for Turkish second division club Manisa FK and has been without a club since September 2023. He last kept fit with third division club SpVgg Unterhaching, but an engagement did not materialize. “The contact was established at relatively short notice,” said Stark about his presence in Halle.
They want to use Tuesday and Wednesday to get to know each other. “I think both sides can imagine it.” However, the decision is urgent, after all, the transfer window is only open until Thursday, February 1, 6 p.m.
Yannick Stark comes from the youth of Eintracht Frankfurt
Stark was trained in the youth of Eintracht Frankfurt and played for the club until the summer of 2010, including for the second team. He then joined MSV Duisburg, was loaned directly to SV Darmstadt 98 and a year later to FSV Frankfurt. Curiously, he ultimately appeared for the Zebras in a single competitive game before joining the Bornheimer Hang on a free transfer in 2011.
Further stops followed at TSV 1860 Munich and Dynamo Dresden. With the Saxons, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the summer of 2021 and relegated again a year later. In the summer of 2022, he then moved to Turkey – a chapter that was not to be crowned with success.
In his career, Stark made 218 second division appearances and 68 appearances in the modern third division. Now, Stark could help Hallescher FC in their fight against relegation in the third division. A direct competitor: Stark’s former club MSV Duisburg.
