Noel Futkeu is playing an outstanding year in Eintracht Frankfurt’s U21 squad. He has already recommended himself for higher tasks in his first Eintracht season.
Noel Futkeu moved to Eintracht Frankfurt’s U21 team last summer after scoring an impressive 37 goals (30 goals, seven assists) in 32 games for ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen.
And in the Frankfurt reserves, he will continue where he left off at ETB. Futkeu continues to score goals (16) and set up goals (eight assists) – and these figures come from just 25 Regionalliga-Südwest appearances.
Those responsible in Frankfurt have also long since realized that the attacker is too good for the fourth division. The 21-year-old from Essen signed a professional contract with the Bundesliga club until June 30, 2026, by which time he should be helping Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
The next step will follow from summer 2024: After leagues five and four, he should at least go to the 3rd league or even the 2nd Bundesliga – on loan. “That’s the logical step and plan. I’m not giving too much away. In the end, Eintracht will decide where Noel might end up. That is not yet clear at this point,” Andreas Winkler, Futkeu’s advisor, told Forecasting.
According to RS information, 1. FC Magdeburg are said to be very interested in Futkeu’s services. This move would make perfect sense. After all, the current FCM coach Christian Titz – Forecasting reported on the then 17-year-old Futkeu from the Spanish training camp at the time – once discovered the lightning-fast winger at Rot-Weiss Essen, before Futkeu was later further molded by Christian Neidhart and finally ETB coach Damian Apfeld and converted into a striker – until he finally landed in Frankfurt.
On a side note: Should Rot-Weiss Essen be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, Futkeu could also become a topic for loan at RWE. After all, he knows the city and the club very well. And: RWE is still looking for a goal-scoring striker for the 2024/2025 season
