Regionalliga club Rot Weiss Ahlen has expanded its coaching staff. A new assistant, goalkeeping coach and video analyst are coming.
With Fabian Springob as new assistant coach, Sascha Alabrese as goalkeeping coach and Salman Sonkaya as video analyst, Rot Weiss Ahlen have introduced three new people to the athletic department.
Springob will assist head coach Daniel Berlinski. He holds the A-Licence, was most recently head coach of the U17 as well as U19 team at Wuppertaler SV and has also worked in the senior sector at FC Kray in the Oberliga as well as most recently in the Bezirksliga in Solingen.
“Fabian is known for his ability to develop young players and realise their full potential. His versatile knowledge and commitment to the development of the team will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our players. In addition, there are plans to add a second co-coach position in the near future to further strengthen the coaching team,” explains Orhan Özkara, sporting director of the Ahlen club.
Alabrese, the new goalkeeping coach, also brings great experience with him. Özkara: “With his B-licence as goalkeeper coach and his past as goalkeeper as well as coach at ETB SW Essen, he is ideally qualified to coach our goalkeepers at the highest level.” Alabrese has also done stints with big-name clubs such as Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.
In addition, Sonkaya will strengthen the Ahlen coaching staff. As a student of sports science, health and nutrition, he has a sound understanding of the physical and mental aspects of football, he said. Salman also holds the B licence and has already worked for Sportfreunde Lotte as a video analyst and co-trainer. “His expertise in video analysis and team management will help our team to continuously grow and improve,” Özkara hopes.
The Ahlen sporting director added: “With these new members on our coaching staff, we are confident that we can take our team to a new level. We will work hard to support our players in the best possible way and to offer our fans great football on the pitch. “
