1. FC Bocholt has presented its fifth winter signing. A striker will strengthen coach Rene Lewejohann’s team.
After Nazzareno Cicarelli (Sportfreunde Lotte), Paul Seidel (Erzgebirge Aue, on loan), Dominik Lanius (Hansa Rostock), and Ozan Hot (1. FC Kaiserslautern), 1. FC Bocholt has introduced its fifth winter signing. As previously announced by Forecasting, 1. FC Bocholt has signed striker Jesaja Herrmann. The 25-year-old attacker signed a contract at Bocholt’s Hünting on Friday (January 23) and is expected to strengthen the offense. Herrmann was born in Kiel and began his soccer training in the youth departments of Hannover 96 and later VfL Wolfsburg, where he stood out in the junior Bundesliga with numerous goals. After his time in Wolfsburg’s youth academy, he gained his first experience in men’s football with VfL Wolfsburg II in the Regionalliga Nord. His career then took him to KV Kortrijk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League in 2021, where he made his first appearances as a professional. This was followed by a loan spell at NAC Breda in the Netherlands, as well as spells in Germany at SV Waldhof Mannheim in the 3. Liga and in Austria at SKU Amstetten, where Herrmann made regular appearances in the 2. Liga in the 2024/25 season and scored several goals. Most recently, he was under contract with Luxembourg’s first division club Racing FC Union Luxembourg (twelve competitive games, eight goals) in the 2025/26 season.
I made a conscious decision to take this step. The discussions with those responsible were convincing. I am looking forward to the project at 1. FC Bocholt and will do everything I can to achieve the club’s goals.
Jesaja Herrmann
In addition to his experience in professional soccer, Herrmann also has international youth experience: he played many games for German junior national teams up to the U19 selection, where he was an active and dangerous striker.
Christopher Schorch, sporting director at 1. FC Bocholt, is proud of the successful transfer: “By signing Jesaja Herrmann, we have managed to secure our absolute dream candidate for the forward line. He combines physical presence and robustness with quality on the ball. Jesaja has regularly demonstrated his goal-scoring threat at his previous clubs.“ Herrmann is also delighted with the move: ”I made a conscious decision to take this step. The discussions with those responsible were convincing. I am looking forward to the project at 1. FC Bocholt and will do everything I can to achieve the club’s goals.”
