The DFB’s illustrious council of experts will meet for the first time on Thursday.
The prominent council of experts of the German Football Association on the future of the national team begins its work. The first meeting will be on Thursday, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur. DFB President Bernd Neuendorf had said that the committee would intensify its work at the beginning of next year. He had not set an end date for the results of the review of the national team’s first-round exit from the World Cup in Qatar.
According to former Bayern boss Rummenigge, the first meeting will focus on clearly defining the tasks around the DFB team, in the search for a successor for national team director Oliver Bierhoff or in the promotion of young talent.
Under the leadership of Neuendorf and DFB vice-president Hans-Joachim Watzke, the council of experts includes Rummenigge, former DFB team boss Rudi Völler, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn, ex-DFB sports director Matthias Sammer and former long-time RB Leipzig managing director Oliver Mintzlaff.
