TVD Velbert is making some early personnel decisions for the new season. The club has also announced three winter departures and one new player.
As seventh in the table with a twelve-point lead over the first relegation spot and a 13-point gap to first place, TVD Velbert can start planning for the new 2024/2025 Oberliga Niederrhein season early.
It is extremely unrealistic for coach Jens Grembowietz’s team to be in danger of relegation again or to dream of promotion. The TVD announced that assistant coach Markus Braasch (54) has extended his contract indefinitely and will remain in the coaching team.
“Markus has been working in Velbert for a long time due to his time at SSVg Velbert and TVD Velbert and will also want to move his place of residence from Marl to Velbert in the future. We are delighted that he is staying,” says TVD boss Andre Grimmert. Head coach Grembowietz (36), who has been at the club since the summer, and goalkeeping coach Dustin Paczulla (29), who has been working in Velbert since 2019, still have valid contracts until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Head of sport Michael Kirschner (57), who has been in this role at the Oberliga club since the 2017/18 district league season, has also reached an agreement with first chairman Grimmert for an “indefinite period” at TVD.
TVD Velbert: Three men leave, one great talent arrives
After the major upheaval and rejuvenation process at TVD in the summer, the personnel restructuring in the team continues.
Kohei Nakano (DJK St. Tönis), Simon Struck, who wanted to return to the Paderborn area early after finishing his training in the spring, and Justin Sarpong (DJK TuS Hordel) have left TVD Velbert.
New to the squad, however, is defensive player Antonio Glibo (19), who has been courted by several Oberliga clubs. He comes from district league club Rot-Weiß Wülfrath, where he immediately developed from an U19 player to a regular in the first team. He previously played in the U19 Lower Rhine League at TVD neighbors SC Velbert and in the U17 Bundesliga at Wuppertaler SV.
